About Malaybalay City

Information about Malaybalay City Malaybalay City is the capital and the first city in the Province of Bukidnon. Sixty-five percent of the City is classified as forestland, the rest as alienable and disposable. The city is mainly an agricultural area, and its products include rice, corn, sugarcane, vegetables, legumes, root crops, and commercial crops such as rubber, coffee, banana and pineapple. In the past years, corn used to be the predominant crop in the city, but recently, the corn areas gave way to sugarcane, agro-farms (poultry and hog), and residential areas. Sugarcane and rice are now the predominant crops in terms of production volume. Malaybalay's competitive advantage has always been the agricultural sector, thus the increasing conversion of agricultural land to industrial, commercial, residential and other uses has become a concern.
